Enchantment of Natural Beauty in Africa, There are Waterfalls to Snowy Mountains

When you hear the word Africa, what usually comes to mind is an arid place with little rain. This is natural because Africa does have the Sahara as the largest desert in the world.

But apparently Africa is not just a desert alone. There are many unique natures that are presented on the Black Continent. Here are 4 natural beauties that can be found on the African continent:

1. Victoria Falls, Zambia

The assumption that Africa is a dry continent is not entirely true. On the other hand, there is one area in the Black Continent that is rich in water, namely Victoria Falls in Zambia.

This waterfall is precisely located on the Zambezi river and on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. With a width of 1,700 meters and a height of about 108 meters, the Waterfall, originally named Mosi-oa-Tunya, is twice as tall as Niagara Falls.

The charm of this waterfall is more complete with the savanna that surrounds it. There are many kinds of African animals such as rhinos, hippos, and lions.

2. Zanzibar Islands

Even though it is a large continent, Africa has islands. Precisely located in the Zanzibar Islands, this region is a tropical paradise located off the coast of Tanzania which is in the Indian Ocean region.

The charm of tropical beauty is felt here, in the form of golden beaches, blue skies, and palm trees swaying in the wind. There are a total of four main islands here, namely Unguja, Pemba, Mafia, and the uninhabited Latham Archipelago.

In addition, there are also small islands in this region. Not only offering beauty, there is a historic city in Unguja. The city of Zanzibar was once associated with the history of the spice and slave trade in the 19th century.

3. Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Tanzania not only has the highest volcano in the world, Kilimanjaro. This country also has the charm of other natural beauty in the Serengeti National Park which is rich in a variety of typical African animals such as lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalo, rhinos, and deer.

In addition, this national park also includes forest and savanna areas. One thing that is special is the occurrence of the Serengeti Migration every year. When this happens, millions of gazelles, zebras and deer will move towards the green grasslands of the Maasai Mara, Kenya.

4. The Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda and Congo

Located on the western side of Uganda, which is also part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Rwenzori Mountains offer a combination of a cool alpine climate with a tropical climate.

There are many rare plants in this mountainous area, one example is lobelias. In addition, the mountains also have snowy peaks, waterfalls and lakes. These mountains are one of the sources of water from the Nile.
