The Head of Public Relations of TMII, Adi Widodo, said the number was based on data recapitulated by TMII as of 11.39 WIB today.
"Visitors arrived at 11.39 WIB with 9,570 individuals," Adi said in a written message to the media crew, Sunday (2/1).
Adi detailed that by noon, the number of cars for TMII visitors was 1,401 units, 1,401 motorcycles, 139 ontel bicycles, and 6 buses. Based on the data that Adi provided, this number has more than doubled compared to the visitor data at 10.00 WIB as many as 4,373 people.
Furthermore, Adi explained that to anticipate the spread of the Omicron variant, he claimed that his party implemented strict screening for TMII visitors.
Tourists who are still children are not allowed to enter unless accompanied by their parents. In addition, TMII also only accepts 75 percent or 45,000 people from the maximum capacity.
To anticipate the crowds, TMII cooperates with a joint apparatus consisting of the TNI, Polri, Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP). A total of 300 joint officers were deployed to break up the crowd.
The operational changes to tourist sites are listed in the Decree of the Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Number 789 of 2021.
Managers must limit visitors to a maximum of 75 percent of the capacity of tourist attractions. Operational hours are limited from 09.00 to 15.00 WIB.
Especially for tourist attractions such as the Ragunan Wildlife Park, TMII, and Ancol Dreamland Park, visitors are required to register online one day in advance.
