One of Colorado's most revered resort towns, Breckenridge is an all-seasons vacation destination that is filled with resorts for all styles of traveler.

Located just about two hours' drive west of Denver, Breck (as locals call it) is one of Colorado's best ski resorts, famous for its miles of downhill skiing and snowboarding terrain, as well as Nordic ski trails.

Summers are for hiking, rafting, fly fishing, and mountain bike riding, and the resorts here stay open year-round.

Breckenridge has long been considered one of Colorado's top family-friendly destinations, and as such, its resort scene focuses on condo-style properties with amenities from heated swimming pools to spas and restaurants. These properties often have multiple bedrooms and are also a good choice for groups of friends traveling together.

Most of the resorts listed here are either on the slopes or very close. Many are also within a short stroll from Breckenridge's Main Street, where you'll find the majority of shops and restaurants, as well as some of the top things to do in Breckenridge.

A former 19th-century gold mining town, Breck has a buzzing downtown that is a refreshing change from many of Colorado's constructed-for-the-industry ski towns.

Offering ski-in, ski-out access to Peak 8, One Ski Hill Place is one of the most luxe places to lay your head in Breckenridge.

If you aren't in town for winter sports, you can also easily reach downtown via a ride on the free BreckConnect Gondola, also out front.

The condo-style units range in size from studios to four-bedroom affairs. All come with gourmet kitchens, gas fireplaces, and mountain-elegant design. Most bathrooms have separate soaking tubs and showers as well.

This property also features more amenities than any other Breckenridge resort.

Although couples will be perfectly happy here, families will be even more delighted with lots of kid-focused amenities. There is an indoor pool with a water feature and a section for kids, as well as a two-lane bowling alley and two movie screening rooms.

Adults will like the spa, the sauna, and the indoor and outdoor hot tubs. There is also a ski concierge and lockers for winter. A fitness center and restaurant round out the amenities offered.

The property is pet-friendly if you are traveling with a dog.

BlueSky Breckenridge is another top 4-star resort in town. It offers ski-in, ski-out access via the Snowflake Lift between Peak 8 and Peak 9.

It is also just three blocks from Breck's bustling Main Street, where you'll find blocks of restaurants, shops, and galleries.

The décor is alpine-elegant, and the condos range in size from one to four bedrooms. All feature full stainless-steel kitchens and separate living and dining space. Cozy gas fireplaces also come standard.

Each condo has a slightly different look as they are privately owned, but all are stylish and come with a mix of stone, wood, and leather accents, and are not outdated.

Resort-style amenities at BlueSky include a heated outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub, a game room, and fitness facilities. Ski rentals are also offered here.

There is no restaurant on-site, but you are walking distance from downtown. The concierge can assist with recommendations and reservations. If you don't want to walk, there is a on-call shuttle service.

At the base of Peak 9, Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center is Breck's largest resort.

There are 515 rooms, studios, and condos, all of which are individually owned and professionally managed. And, unlike many vacation rental properties, Beaver Run is distinctly a resort.

There are multiple restaurants on-site, a mini-golf course, an arcade, and a spa with a full range of treatments including an oxygen bar.

After a day of skiing or snowboarding in winter, or hiking or biking in summer, you can head to one of the two swimming pools (one indoors, the other outside) or nine hot tubs on the grounds.

Accommodation comes in many configurations and is spread across four buildings. If you just need a place to sleep, the hotel rooms can sleep four with two queen beds. For the most space, book one of the two-bedroom condos. In-between are the suites, many of which have kitchenettes.

With easy access to the slopes, this resort offers accommodations ranging from studios to three-bedroom suites.

Most units have balconies with mountain views. All feature full kitchens, tasteful décor, gas fireplaces, and lots of space.

If you are looking to stay in something other than a condo resort, Gravity Haus Breckenridge is a great choice.

This boutique resort is walking-distance from Main Street at the base of Peak 9. The hotel has a fun Colorado-modern, mountain-chic ambience throughout its public spaces, rooms, and suites.

The rooms and suites are uniquely decorated with mountain photography artwork that can reach from floor to ceiling. They come in a number of configurations, including a few choices with bunk-beds that can accommodate families. If your dog is family, pets are welcome for a fee.

The Gravity Haus amenities are another standout perk. There is a SuperTramp on the third floor, where guests can catch big air on a giant trampoline. It also serves as a training area for professional athletes to practice flips and such.

You can soak away muscle aches in a hot tub at the Japanese-inspired Onsen. It has cold plunge tubs and a dry sauna as well.

The on-site restaurant, Cabin Juice, serves three meals a day and offers everything from meat to vegan dishes. Finally, there is a coffee shop on the main floor, a co-working space, and demo-gear rentals for an extra fee.

Grand Lodge is a condo resort offering ski-in, ski-out access from the Independence SuperChair on Peak 7 at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

In summer, there are hiking trails departing from a trailhead out front. The resort also sits on the BreckConnect Gondola route, which provides access to downtown.

The condos here range from suites to four-bedroom residences. Suites have kitchenettes, while the one- to four-bedroom residences have full kitchens, a washer/dryer, and a private balcony.

The décor is mountain-chic with lots of knotty woodwork; a mix of leather, wood and upholstered furnishings; and stone fireplaces.

For groups of friends, the four-bedroom residences are a great option. They are quite large, with 2,400 square feet of space, and come with two full-size kitchens, four bathrooms, and two balconies.

There is a large indoor/outdoor swimming pool that connects with an indoor kids' pool with water features. There are also two outdoor pools for summer, with a waterslide and splash area for little ones. Multiple hot tubs are set around the aquatic area.

Other amenities include a spa; fitness center; restaurant; and four movie theaters that can be reserved for free, with touchscreen pads to select your film –note that these will be older movies (not what you are seeing just released in a theater), but still it is a fun way to pass an evening.

7. Grand Colorado on Peak 8

On Peak 8, The Grand Colorado has residence-style lodging ranging from suites to four-bedroom units. The gondola is just steps away from the resort, making ski-in, ski-out access a breeze.

The units have elegant mountain décor with wood and stone accents. The suites can sleep four with a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa in the living space. Suites also feature kitchenettes.

The one- to four-bedroom residences have full kitchens, are very spacious, and come with balconies with mountain views.

Amenities are plentiful. There are multiple swimming pools and hot tubs, including an indoor swim area for cold winter days.

The Infinity Spa here features an adult-only grotto area with a hot tub and cold plunge-pool. There is also a steam room, and a full range of treatments are offered.

There are a few different dining options on the grounds. The Ullr Cafe is where to fuel up with coffee and grab-and-go pastries in the mornings. Robbies Tavern serves up American comfort fare facing the slopes. It has a large deck for sunny days.

Five private movie theaters can also be reserved. These have more than 450 films in their collections.

8. Grand Timber Lodge

Located between Peak 8 and Peak 9, Grand Timber Lodge also has ski-in, ski-out accommodations.

The condos are spacious and comfortable, and come in sizes from studio to three-bedroom affairs.

The studio units can sleep up to four people (two on a pull out sofa) and come with kitchenettes with a two-burner stove, mini-dishwasher, mini-fridge, and microwave. The one- to three-bedroom residences have full kitchens.

There are two aquatic areas on-site. One has an indoor/outdoor pool setup and multiple hot tubs, as well as a children's wading area and water feature. The second has outdoor hot tubs, a pool, a steam room, and a sauna.

Other amenities include a massage studio with its own eucalyptus steam room and dry sauna. You can also grab a bite to eat at The Boot Saloon, which serves up comfort fare. A fitness center and movie theaters round out the amenities.

It is about a 5-minute drive from The Lodge to downtown Breckenridge and the slopes, but you can't beat the views.

Located on a wooded cliffside, this resort sits at 10,200 feet and looks out at Boreas Pass, the Ten Mile Range and Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Offering resort amenities in a boutique hotel setting, The Lodge is a popular choice for a romantic getaway or a family holiday–it is a great destination wedding venue as well.

The rooms and suites are rustic mountain-chic with lots of wood accents, from ceiling beams to window frames and shutters. Many have stunning views from furnished balconies. Public spaces have the same charming ambience.

You can grab dinner at the on-site Traverse Restaurant, which opens at 4pm daily and cooks up fresh, local fare that changes with the seasons.

The Alpine Spa here has a full range of treatments including signature packages.

Other amenities include a hot tub, shuttle service into town and the ski resort, and free parking. If you are traveling with a dog, the hotel is pet-friendly.

The resort-style Residence Inn by Marriott Breckenridge is a great choice if you are visiting for a week-long getaway (although you can definitely book for fewer nights).

This extended-stay property is not far from Main Street and the slopes, which can be accessed via a short walk or a free shuttle service.

The all-suite property has rooms in a number of sizes. The smallest are the studio suites, with a king bed and a pullout sofa. The largest are two-bedroom suites with two king bedrooms and also a sofa bed.

Regardless of size, all suites have fully-equipped kitchens that make cooking a breeze. The hotel also offers a grocery shopping service pre-arrival.

A full breakfast is served in the mornings, and there is also a lounge for light dining after a day on the mountain. Other amenities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, a hot tub, and a fitness center.
