Divided between the Dutch St. Maarten on one side and the French overseas collectivity of St. Martin, this island in the southern Caribbean is a popular tourist destination and offers a range of resorts for all budgets and styles of travelers.

Whether you choose to stay on the French or Dutch side of the island, you'll find everything from adults-only, luxury all-inclusive resorts to family-friendly properties with lodging in villas or large suites.

On the Dutch side, the capital city is Philipsburg, which is home to bright-colored, colonial-style buildings that are home to many shops and restaurants.

On the French side, Grand Case is the main village, and there are a number of resorts located along the beach on either side of the bay.

The most luxe resort on the island, La Samanna is a beautiful property set on 55 acres atop a rocky ledge that looks down on a beautiful white-sand beach with the sparkling Caribbean Sea beyond it.

Coral Beach Club is a private luxury resort that has re-opened after a multi-million renovation and upgrade that followed damage in a 2017 hurricane. On the St. Maarten side of the island, this 5-star resort is located right on Dawn Beach.
