While the interiors are a bit dated, it's the exterior offerings, and the location, that sets the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos a cut above.

On the corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, the resort has natural-colored rooms, with marble floors, wooden accents, and Scandinavian-style decor. The room to book is the Casa Del Mar, which is a separate villa with a decidedly more sophisticated design, as well as its own private pool.

Eight dining venues offer a little bit of something for everyone, from Italian and sushi to a Brazilian-Argentinian steakhouse. The main attraction at the resort are its pools, each with a different theme, from the family pool to an activity pool and one that is adults-only.

Golfers will relish the two famous golf courses nearby, each with 18 holes and views of the surrounding desert and sea. That said, green fees are an additional charge.

While the beach isn't swimmable, Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos has plenty of water features, from pools to a pond dotted with fire pits. There is also a hot tub and a separate pool designated only for adults.

The beach area has cabanas and lounge chairs, but the water is much too rough for swimming, like most other beaches in Los Cabos.

One of the main draws of the resort is the exclusive guest access to the Quivira Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course. Here is where guests will find The Oasis restaurant, as well as the clubhouse, which serves fantastic steaks. Note that the green fees and restaurant are an extra charge.
